Maria has been teaching for over 14 years and opened her own studio in Sacramento in 2014.

Tell us about your Studio?
Humani is a place where people become more connected to their body. Although it's an individual journey, we create intentional opportunities to do it together. It's more fun that way! Our studio is very community focused - we know everyone who walks through the doors and believe that creating an inclusive environment is essential for learning.

What makes your studio unique/stand out?
As cliche as it sounds, "the energy". Also, I have to say it's pretty cute. I'm really big into creating comfortable spaces where people feel calm and relaxed.

What is inspiring you in your work right now?
A big focus of my work right now is to support people who want to become teachers, as well as provide support for existing teachers through coaching and teaching masterminds. I currently run a Comprehensive Humani™️ Teacher Training Program, whose mission is to move future teachers beyond the basic technique of teaching and into creating a life where they can feel fulfilled with their work. I also adore working with existing teachers who are ready to step more confidently into the world of teaching and business ownership and build the kind of studio/business that aligns with who they are.

Biggest business lesson?
So many lessons! One big one is that no one aside from you truly knows the answer. You can seek out all the expert advice you want, but learning how to uncover what is right for you is ultimately the way.

Greatest joy in life?
Feeling freedom to create from my heart and live life on my own terms.

Favorite part of your day?
Mornings 100%. Especially when that coffee hits.

What are you reading / watching right now?
Just read "Contagious You" and "Contagious Culture", by Annese Cavanaugh. Highly recommended for all business owners. Just watched Season 3 of Bridgerton. Started slow in my opinion, but grew on me as it went on. Not really wanting to admit this, but absolutely binged the last season of the "Perfect Match" on Netflix.

Something you're loving, that we need to know about?
Ok so, for anyone who plays tennis (which I feel like is a lot of people right now), A&F makes the most comfortable and cutest tennis dresses (also workout clothes, in general). Here's the exact one I got and it's on sale now!

Also, this Kosas hydrating spray is so perfect for this time of the year when your skin is asking for extra hydration. Also, for anyone like me, who is not a pro at staying hydrated, I love adding LMNT to my water for the perfect balance of sodium, magnesium, and potassium. I feel a noticeable difference when I'm properly hydrated, especially if I'm out playing tennis or have long work days.

Fav Loops product and why?
If I have to pick just one, it would be the Reformer Loops. It was a game changer when we switched to these comfy loops.

If we come visit your studio, what is another must do in the area?
COFFEE! We have an amazing coffee scene. Temple CoffeeMast Coffee, and Camelia Coffee would have to be my favorite.
